Grad Tuštanj

Pros: The location and surroundings of the castle are simply wonderful. It has a serene and friendly atmosphere. It is run by a very friendly and kind family. Breakfast consisted of local food and was home made.

Pros: Excellent 3 days stay in a medieval castle room. A whole castle is beautifully renovated offering a very nice and quiet room for guests. Owners were extremelly friendly made us felt truly welcomed including serving delicious breakfast.

Pros: Grad Tustanj is a place with a unique atmosphere and charm. Staying overnight in a 15th-century castle is an incredible experience. The castle's surroundings and beautiful mountain views make you never want to leave. The room is very large and comfortable, and a hearty and delicious breakfast is served in a beautiful dining room with antique furniture. The owners are a lovely family who ensure that guests feel comfortable. For a small fee, you can tour the castle. Honey from the castle apiary is also available for purchase. Grad Tustanj is an excellent base for exploring Slovenia. We highly recommend it.

Very nice owners, beautiful castle and surroundings, but cleaning needs an improvement

Pros: The owners are very nice, and the castle is situated in a very beautiful area. We loved playing with the little kitten running around in the castle, and it's nice getting the opportunity to stay in this old, historic building. The breakfast, served by the owners, was great, with very tasty eggs, fruit etc, and we really appreciated that they even made sure to serve gluten-free alternatives for our son! I do wish we would have been given the opportunity to see more and learn more about the castle.

Cons: There were quite a lot of spiders in the room, that could have been swept away with a broom before arrival, and it was a bit humid. Also, there was a lot of dust and an old earplug fully visible under the high bed, revealing that it hadn't been properly cleaned, which was weird, since the bathroom was perfectly clean. Also the entire courtyard is in need of some cleaning, since there were a lot of old leaves, flowers and debris lying around. This place could, with the help of just a broom, be an absolute treasure, especially since the owners are such nice people.

A magic place

Pros: Everything was perfect. This a beautiful manor, at easy distance to Ljubljiana and Kamnik area. We were impressed to see how hard this family works to maintain the castle and the grounds in an absolute pristine state. They are warm, hospitable and they prepared a delicious fresh continental breakfast for us. A wonderful memory among others : hearing the owner singing opera in the courtyard, or their son showing us their family collection. That was a real experience ! Thank you

Pros: Wonderful breakfasts. Peaceful environment. Very frendly hosts!

Pros: Very, very kind host / family, always helpful and supportive, nice location, beautiful landscape and village smell. Very quiet, silence is thundering.

Cons: Small boiler, two person cannot take shower one after the other, WiFi is not available in the room (weak signal), no fridge in the room.

Pros: Amazing location. Very quit and relaxing. Perfect for those who want to unwind and relax. Great breakfast. Clean and big room. Everything is great.

Cons: There was nothing I didn't like. A great place to stay. Especially for families.

A true noble experience

Pros: I really liked the location, in a peaceful village, with us being only guests (as I understand at the moment only one room is being offered to guests). We enjoyed a peaceful evening in the castle garden, with kids playing with neighbours dog and cat, idilic :) The fact that you are sleeping in a 500 years old building, rich with history is a thing per se, and the host was super nice to show us around the castle, having extra patience for my two little monkeys (kids, well). Bathroom is completely new, room also renovated, just the furniture is old (but very nicely preserved), which gives an extra touch to this experience. Bed was comfortable, just a remark that it is not a double bed, but 2 joint beds with separate matresses.

Cons: Maybe just a suggestion for breakfast to include some more vegetables (there were few cherry tomatoes) and fruit. It was ok (eggs, sausage, ham, cheese, cereals, jam, nutella), I would just prefer veggies and some fruit on top:)

Pros: This place is really magical. Small castle, surrounded by beautifull countryside. Owners are amazing, it´s obvious how they take care about the place and their visitors. Room was spacious for three of us, comfortable and clean. Furnished in old style. Bathroom was brand new. Proper mosquito nets on the windows. Breakfast was fabulous.
