Super quiet and peaceful - just lovely

Pros: It's a lovely, proper 2-bed apartment that has been usefully modernised - great shower/hot water/cooker/air con etc. Very well equipped and easy to stay for a few days - cooked ourselves and even managed to watch a Premier League footy match! Very comfortable beds and pillows. Super quiet and lovely to sit on the balconies looking out over the vineyards. Very friendly host and nice family next door. Off road parking. Basically we loved it and were sad to leave

Cons: Food options locally are limited but good cafe and bakery in Dobrovo. Also a new supermarket there. Uphill walk to Smartno and take a torch if you're walking back in the dark!

Incredible property in Brda Gorizia Region.

Pros: Beautiful setting, really close to Smartno and Dovrovo. Eating my meals on the terrace, in front of rolling vineyards was amazing experience. I really appreciated the little extra touches: the host was waiting at the bus stop to greet me and provided some delicious home-grown tomatoes. The house is really well equipped with supplies like tea and coffee, maps of the area, even something for zapping insects. Beds probably the most comfortable I have had in a really long time, everything clean and modern. I felt a real sense of freedom having the whole house to myself. Host communicated really well and even provided advice about catching the right bus on the day of my check-out. I had a wonderful time. P.S. It is possible to do a day trip to Gorizia (Italian) from the property, even on public transport, without any problems.

Cons: Mosquitoes and other insects will eat you alive. It's to be expected really, in such an agriculturally rich area, with fruit dangling everywhere, but bring some insect spray with you.

Pros: Beautiful place with balcony overlooking the vineyards. Excellent host.

Peaceful comfortable house with a great outlook.

Pros: We loved this house. The hostess greeted us with warmth and a lovely smile. The house was spacious and had a lovely view out on to vineyards and surrounding villages. It was very quiet . It was about one kilometre to the village of Smartno. Smartno has limited options for an evening meal so we ended up self-catering which worked well for us. We felt very at home here and we were reluctant to leave.

Fabulous property with a wonderful host

Pros: Fabulous location in šmartno with amazing views. Highly recommend the accommodation and the host. We were well looked after and communication was easy. Felt like a home away from home.

Pros: Spacious apartment, great views with a short walk to Smartno and local wineries. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay for a couple of nights.

Great house on a good location

Pros: Big house on a very good location near Smartno. Big rooms, two terraces with nice views - one balcony and one winter garden terrace. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything needed. New bathroom. One of the most equipped stays we have ever visited - books, table games, even crosswords. Very friendly owner who welcomed us with a bottle of local vine. Very good price for what it offers.

Cons: No outdoor space, but it was not really missed.

Comfortable with lovely views.

Pros: Large apartment and very comfortable with a lovely view across the valley. Really well equipped and the owner is lovely and helpful.

Cons: There is a pig farm close by and depending on which way the wind blows you can smell them. There is a house being built next door, there was no noise or disturbance from it when we were there. But you are looking out onto part of the building site from the front of the apartment.

Amazing getaway in Smartno

Pros: What a wonderful place this is. I really felt at home at this big but cosy apartment. Everything was perfectly in order. Big surplus for me was the washing machine! It was a hot day, but in the house, it was nice and cool thanks to climate control. The terras had an amazing view, and the town was just a very short walk away. The host was super lovely and friendly. I instantly felt at home! Highly recommend this place!
