Chalet Encijan - Velika planina

Dream chalet in the fantasy land of Velinka Planina.

Pros: A dream stay for us over Christmas 2025. Had everything we needed, we were very comfortable. Was super cosy with good data signal to stream music. The hot tub was special with a perfect view of the sunset over the mountains. We’ll be back!

Cons: We loved everything about it.

Good quiet stay, with the cows.

Pros: The view was great, in the morning there is an opening to see the clouds. I realised there were other chalets that had better view directly from the accommodation though. The hot tub was an experience.

Cons: The stairs up was quite narrow and steep. Since the washroom is on the first floor, climbing down in the middle of the night is a hassle. But that's how all the chalets are built to preserve what it looked like in the past. It is abit of a walk from the shuttle point be prepared if you're carrying heavy bags.

Awesome experience!

Pros: 1.The host is very responsive to queries and instructions given after booking of accomodation was clear . 2. The hiking route to the accommodation is good for first time hikers who does not want something too challenging. A peaceful, scenic place in summer where pastures meets mountains . Awesome scenery!

Cons: 1.The space in the attic is small for 5-6 people to sleep in. Especially for people who are claustrophobic. 2. It would be better if guests are prepped to download the Google map or GPS first offline to get to the accomodation or back to the mid mountain carpark. We depended on Google map but the signal was bad up in the mountains and we almost lost our way.

Wonderful location

Pros: It was a lovely chalet with everything you need for to leave the world behind. It was clean and cosy. The access was easy everything was clearly explained by the host. And we could contact them rund up the hour.

Cons: They always made the hot tub for us but unfortunately sometimes they heated so much the water that we could not get in, we must wait. Maybe less wood would be enough to heat the hot tub

Comfortable chalet in unique location

Pros: Lovely well equipped chalet in very beautiful and unique location. The hosts sent very good information ahead of time with advice on travelling to Vellika Planina.

Cons: I had problems with communication with the host as I was having problems accessing the internet while I was in Slovenia, and it was difficult contacting the hosts by phone.

Pros: The location was absolutely stunning! The Chalet was nicely located with a quiet surrounding. It was very clean and comfortable for 4 ppl. The Chalet has a food storage where food can be purchased (good variety). It also has sugar, spices, oil and vinegar etc. The Chalet owners are very friendly, helpful and answer super fast! The hot tub was great! It also has a infrared cabine. Hiking around the area is absolutely recommended. Especially the shepherd settlement with the church. The restaurant Zeleni Rob is 5 min. away and serves excellent food! The free cows are wonderful to watch.

Cons: -A big minus is the water. The Chalet uses rain water but it's not suitable for drinking or cooking. You must use bottled water (we got it free of charge, which was very nice). The problem is that the water really smells bad and even showering with this water, is not very comfortable. There should be different solution regarding this water. -While the hot tub was very nice, 60€ for 1 night is too overpriced.

Wonderful site where you feel out of time

Pros: Many usefull informations transmitted ahead of arrival. Chalet is very nice with full equipments. Incredible sunset just above the chalet. Velika site is wonderful place even in bad weather.

Incroyable

Pros: L’endroit est magnifique. Le logement est joli et spacieux (j’étais seule). Le bain avec le coucher du soleil vaut vraiment le coup ! J’ai pris 1 nuit supplémentaire tellement j’étais ravie d’être là

Cons: Eau non potable mentionné. On peut en acheter dans le logement mais au prix de 3€ LA bouteille d’1,5L acheté au Lidl c’est moyen. Malheureusement pour plusieurs jours c’est inévitable d’en acheter..

Excellent séjour avec découverte d'un site naturel fantatisque.

Pros: l'emplacement était idéal. A noter que si le funiculaire est hors service (comme c'était le cas pour nous), le site est accessible à pied, soit à 45 mns de marche, soit à 2h de marche (bonne grimpette!!) en fonction de la disponibilité des différents parkings. Même avec la marche, cela vaut le coup mais mieux vaut être au courant. Le hot Tub vaut vraiment le coup.

Pros: Prekrasna priroda, blizina restorana, slatka kućica, odličan dogovor oko svega, kupka, kravice, mir i tišina. Savršeno za odmor.
