Hotel Kovac

Pros: Amazing and kind stuff, so many options for activities around the hotel, peaceful atmosphere and silent nights.

Cons: My mattress was very uncomfortable.

Pros: The whole staff is very genuinely friendly. Good price ratio. Restaurant is good. Great starting point for nature hikes.

Stunning location and great value

Pros: An unbelievable location for woods and nature. Utterly beautiful! I want to move there! The staff were welcoming, gave us a little welcome drink and a map of local walks. The restaurant terrace has beautiful views. The room itself was clean and comfortable. They upgraded us from the annex to the main building and our view was outstanding.

Cons: Plenty of good value food served at the restaurant but no vegan options at all besides a large salad and chips. Not many veggie options either. But to be expected somewhere rural and there is a supermarket down the road for provisions. Shower was low mounted which meant you had to hold it with one hand.

Perfect and quiet retreat in the middle of nature (with loads of activities)

Pros: Great value for money ratio Lots of facilities, options of activities (saunas, swimming pool, jacuzzi, rafting, tennis, adrenaline park, archery, cycling, bear watching) Very kind and approachable staff Food options (all 3 meals are served), there is a hotel bar and a nice outside terrace On site parking Chill and quiet vibe of the surrounding area, in the middle of the nature

Cons: Having your own means of transport is a necessity if not wanting to cycle everywhere Stock on supplies as there is only a small market in the village (and it is difficult to get to the near larger city) Bicycles could use some maintenance Breakfast gets kinda boring after a few days

Simon and his staff run a fantastic establishment. The Hotel Kovac is simply the best.

Pros: Everything! Comfy room, great breakfast, great restaurant, fantastic staff, beautiful area…I simply can’t say enough nice things about The Hotel Kovac.

Cons: Nothing.

A cozy hotel in the beautiful nature of Slovenia

Pros: The hotel staff is incerdibly nice and polite and they make the hotel super cosy.> The food is local and delicious! The pool and jacuzzi are amazing and super convenient in the winter days.

Cons: The bathroom was a little small but livable :)

Lovely family owned hotel. Perfectly located for bear and wildlife observation.

Pros: Super friendly staff!! We arrived relatively late from a bear observation trip (book with CroMedo!!) and they still served us dinner. Nice traditional hotel directly at the brink of the Slovenian-Croatian border. Can’t imagine a better starting point for wildlife watching, hiking or rafting.

Cons: We’d have loved it even more if they weren’t using one-way plastic packages for butter, jam, etc. during breakfast. Being nestled close to a national park with such awesome fauna and flora, refraining from using plastic should be self-evidently.

Pros: Remote location, enjoyed tranquility and fresh air. Friendly staff, good breakfast, room ok.

Cons: Light in the room from the street, flyes on the food at breakfast, balcan music in the eating area.

Nice place to stay

Pros: Very friendly people. Nice place to relax , activities around. Pool area, Restaurant.

Cons: The bed mattress has a very strong smell and should be replaced. Cleanliness of rooms. Some items are broken, like hair dryer, refrigerator. Lots of spiders in the corners. The restaurant is a bit too expensive
